Canal Shores Golf Course Undergoing $59 Million Renovation

Evanston's Beloved Golf Gem to Get a Facelift

Canal Shores Golf Course in Evanston, Illinois, is an iconic course known for its unique setting in the middle of a bustling Chicago suburb. Now, the course is getting a major renovation worth $59 million, set to be completed next summer.

"I am beyond excited to see the finished product of this renovation," said Tom O'Neill, an avid golfer and resident of Evanston. "Canal Shores is already a great course, but this update will take it to the next level."

The renovation includes improvements to the course layout, greens, bunkers, and irrigation system. The course will also be lengthened to 7,000 yards to accommodate longer-hitting golfers.

"We are committed to providing the best possible golfing experience for our members and guests," said Canal Shores General Manager John Curran. "This renovation will ensure that Canal Shores remains one of the top golf courses in the Chicagoland area for years to come."

The renovation is being funded by a combination of private donations and public funds from the City of Evanston. Work is expected to begin in the spring of 2023 and be completed in the summer of 2024.
